1961 Ginetta G4 #020

Originally brought to the shop when it was purchased by Ralph Salomon, this Ginetta is the sixth ever built and potentially the oldest surviving example of the model. Sporting different bodywork, a shorter wheelbase, and a different round-tube chassis than the later Series 1 cars, this Ginetta is being campaigned by Michael Oritt with a pre-crossflow Ford 1500cc engine.

Drivetrain

• 4-speed Ford close-ratio, straight-cut synchro box

• Austin A40 live rear axle, specially modified by Ginetta

Body/Chassis

• All fiberglass body with removable nose, removable tail, and bonded center tub
• Unique, early round-tube spaceframe chassis design
• Total weight: ~1,270lbs without driver

• Coilover suspension at all four corners
• Ginetta fabricated front control arms
• Triumph Spitfire front brake calipers and rotors
