1966 Ginetta G4 #0245
This series 2 Ginetta G4 is arguably the fastest Ginetta G4 in the U.S. It arrived at our shop with a 1500cc Ford pre-crossflow engine installed. The engine was later bored to 1700cc, then replaced with a 1700cc Ford crossflow engine. The live rear axle has also been converted from the original Austin A40 unit to a more durable Ford Anglia rear. This Ginetta is a great example of a model reputed for its speed, and its unique square-tube chassis provides great rigidity. It is a regular front-runner in VRG Group 2, SVRA Group 8, and HSR Group 3 alongside mid-engined sports racers, big-bore American muscle, and Porsche 911s. This car currently holds the medium-bore track record at Pitt Race near Pittsburgh.
