1967 Brabham BT21
This car was originally built as a hillclimb car with a 6-speed Hewland transaxle. Chuck Schroedel (Bedford, NY) imported the car in 1968 and ran under SRC (Springdel Racing Corp) in Formula C with an 1100 cc Lucas injection Cosworth motor he bought from Dick Smothers. Mike Rand (Lakeville, CT) next owned the car and won the 1970 American Road Race of Champions in Formula C. The car then moved to Bobby Foster (Glenwood Acres Ski School – south of Buffalo, NY). It was subsequently bought by Larry Styer and raced in 1974 followed by Bruce Ryder, Buffalo, NY. John Lindsay, Canada, bought the car in 1988 and sold it to Tom Grudovich in 2006. The car was modified to Formula B spec in 1974 and Grudovich restored it to that configuration. The car was sold to California in 2014.
